(TEMPORARY INTRODUCTION OF A ONE-WAY RESTRICTION)

(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF (AVON STREET, BATH) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 1998)

 ORDER 2023

 

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

·  A one-way restriction allowing traffic to travel in a southbound direction only, in that length of St James’s Parade, Bath from its junction with Lower Borough Walls extending south east to its junction with Corn Street. USRN: 47913638

·  A temporary suspension of Avon Street, Bath Prohibition of Driving Order 1998, to allow all vehicular traffic to travel on this length of road.

 

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Bath and North east Somerset Council to carry our essential footway improvement works on the 12th June 2023 for a maximum period of 9 weeks. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for SEVEN WEEKS.

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Southgate Street – Broad Quay – Ambury – A367 Corn Street – Avon Street – James Street West.
