BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL (THTSC683 BATH BOULES) (CHAPEL ROW, OLD KING STREET, QUEEN SQUARE, BATH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE OF VEHICLES) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PARKING) ORDER 2022 Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit the use of vehicles on the following highways between the times of 08:00hrs on Friday 22nd July to 22:00hrs on Sunday 24th July 2022:
1) Close Queen Square, the east section extending from its junction with Old King Street to its junction with Wood Street;
2) Close Queen Square, the southern carriageway extending from its junction with Wood Street to its junction with Chapel Row;
3) Suspend the two way working order in Old King Street, to prohibit the traffic flow westbound from John Street to Queen Square to allow for one way working only in an eastbound direction;
4) Suspend the one way working order in Queen Square North, from its junction with Queen Square Place to its junction with Old King Street to allow for two way working;
5) If deemed necessary, reverse the one way working order in Queen Square West, from its junction with Queen Square Place to its junction with Chapel Row to allow the traffic to travel northbound to southbound only whilst this order is in operation;
6) Suspend the two-way working of Chapel Row, from its junction with St Paul’s Place to its junction with Queen Square West to allow the traffic to travel in an eastbound direction only whilst this order is in operation unless the diversion on Queen Square West is reversed then this will revert back to two-way flow of traffic.
7) Between the times of 22:00hrs on Monday 18th July to 14:00hrs on Monday 25th July 2022, all parking / stopping / loading and taxis bays shall be suspended:
a) in that length of Queen Square, east side which extends from its junction with Old King Street to its junction with Wood Street;
b) and in that length of Queen Square, south side, which extends from its junction with Wood Street to its junction with Chapel Row.
8) Between the times of 09:00 and 18:00hrs on Friday 22nd July, Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July 2022, all parking / stopping / loading shall be suspended: a) in the full length of George Street which extends from its junction with Gay Street to its junction with Broad Street. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Diversion 1 out of town: Old King Street – John Street – Quiet Street – Milsom Street Diversion 2 into town: Charles Street - Monmouth Place – Charlotte Street – Queen Square North Diversion 3: Access to Princes Street from the A4 - Queen Square north side, Queen Side Place, Charlotte Street, Crescent Gardens, Little Stanhope, Stanhope Place, Charles Street, and Chapel Row. Diversion 4: Access to the A4 from Princes Street will remain the same.
