(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2022

 

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of roads list below:

 

  • Churchill Bridge closed to southbound traffic
  • Churchill Gyratory/Roundabout closed to eastbound traffic from its junction with Churchill Bridge to its junction with Rossiter Road

Monday 20 June – Friday 19 August

19.00 – 06.00: every night, 7 days a week

Saturday 20 August – Sunday 9 October

23.59 – 07.00: weekly, Saturday nights only

Sunday 9 October – Sunday 16 October

19.00 – 06.00, every night, 7 days a week

 

 

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road for repairs to Claverton Street Railway Bridge by Network Rail on the 20th June 2022 for a maximum period of 5 Months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for 17 WEEKS.  

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:

 

Eastbound Traffic – Dorchester Street – Manvers Street – North Parade – Pulteney Road

Southbound Traffic - Dorchester Street – Manvers Street – North Parade – Pulteney Road – Rossiter Road – Claverton Street – Wells Road

Northbound Traffic – Ambury – Green Park Road – Charles Street – Chapel Row – Queens Square – Gay Street – George Street – Paragon – London Street – London Road
