(THTTC2996 A4 UPPER BRISTOL ROAD CYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT WORKS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2022

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a Road Closure in that length of the A4 Upper Bristol Road from its junction with Marlborough Lane extending in an easterly direction to its junction with Charlotte Street. The closure will also include a few metres into Charlotte Street, Monmouth Place and Marlborough Lane. USRN: 47900002

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road for Cycle and Pedestrian Improvement works by Bath and North East Somerset Council on the 14^th November 2022 for a maximum period of 2 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for THREE NIGHTS between 19:00 – 07:00hrs.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Eastbound: A4 Upper Bristol Rd, A3604 Windsor Bridge Rd, A36 (Lower Bristol Rd & Pines Way), A367 (Churchill Bridge & Broad Quay), A3039 (The Ambury & Corn St), A367 (Green Park Rd & Charles St), C24 Chapel Row and A4 (Queen Square, Queen Square Place, Charlotte St & Upper Bristol Rd)

Westbound: A4 (Charlotte St, Queen Square Place, Queen Square), C24 Chapel Row, A367 (Charles St & Green Park Rd), A3039 (Corn Str, St James’s Parade, Southgate), A367 (Broad Quay, Churchill Bridge), A36 (Lower Bristol Rd, Claverton St), A3604 Windsor Bridge Rd & A4 Upper Bristol Rd

Southbound (along Marlborough Lane): Marlborough Buildings, C16 Weston Road, C17 Park Lane and then same as eastbound diversion
