Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to :


 


1.    Temporary suspend and prohibit the use of the Zebra Crossing located across James St West, north west of its junction with Avon Street – order number B9208.


 


2.    Temporary introduce a pedestrian crossing (push button) on St James’s Parade located east of its junction with Avon Street centred at approximately 28 metres.


 


  


This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to facilitate the demolition of the existing Bath College Ralph Allen building and the construction of a new hotel development on the 11th November 2019 for a maximum period of 18 Months.  The Zebra Crossing will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for 18 Months.
