(TEMPORARY INTRODUCE 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2022

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of A431 Bath Road, Kelston started east of Swineford at the 30/40 terminals extending in an easterly direction for approximately 580 metres.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable safe construction of a proposed new access and bridge over the River Avon. Construction traffic will need to cross from the compound (north of the A431) to the construction site (south of the A431) and facilitate safe crossing of the A431 by operatives. The 30mph speed restriction will be combined with two way and 4 way temporary traffic signals. Works carried out by Wessex Water on the 10^th June 2022 for a maximum period of 18 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for EIGHTEEN MONTHS.
