BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL

(THTTC2877 HIGH STREET / MEAD LANE, SALTFORD)

(TEMPORARY NO WAITING AT ANY TIME RESTRICTION) ORDER 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Bath and North East Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to Temporarily introduce No Waiting at Any Time Markings in its length of roads listed below.

High Street, Saltford.

  • Westbound from its junction with Homefield Close to its junction with Beech Road.
  • West of the entrance to The Batch extending westbound for approximately 27 metres.
  • West of property 48 ‘Middle Cottage’ extending westbound for approximately 73 metres to east of the entrance to The Batch.
  • Eastbound from its junction with Norman Road/Beech Road extending to its junction with Saltford Court. This will used as a construction traffic holding point.
  • Eastbound opposite its junction with Homefield Road for approximately 20 metres.
  • Eastbound opposite property 26a for approximately 15 metres.
  • West of ‘Old School’ to its junction with Queen Square, approximately 24 metres.
  • Eastbound from the existing No Waiting at Any Time Markings east of its junction with Queen Square extending east for approximately 60 metres.

Mead Lane, Saltford.

  • Layby just east of Bristol and Bath Railway Path. This will used as a construction traffic holding point.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable the passage of construction traffic through Saltford to and from the Wessex Water Saltford Water Recycling Centre through the use of holding bays for construction traffic. These works will enable the construction of a new access from the A431 over the River Avon and significantly reduce the volume of heavy vehicles needing to access the site through Saltford. This Order will be operative from the 10th June 2022 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the restrictions may not be effected for the whole of the period, but it is anticipated that the road will be restricted as and when traffic signs and markings are in position and only for so long as is necessary to execute the works which it is anticipated will be for EIGHTEEN MONTHS.
