(TEMPORARY INTRODUCTION OF A NO RIGHT TURN)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY PEDESTRIANS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2023

 

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order to the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:

·         

A road closure in that length of Oak Street, Bath, from its junction with Lower Bristol Road extending to its junction with Wood Street. USRN: 47901196

·         

A no right turn for vehicles exiting the side road known as The Square onto Lower Bristol Road

·         

A no right turn on Lower Bristol Road whilst vehicles are travelling in the works area for traffic travelling in both directions

·      

A footpath closure on the south side of Lower Bristol Road from its junction with The Square extending east for approximately 160 metres – alternative walkway provided

 

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road for S278 works to install the required services to connect a puffin crossing by JLES South West Limited on the 23rd January 2023 for a maximum period of 3 weeks. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for NINETEEN DAYS.

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:

Eastbound traffic: Lower Bristol Road (remainder) – Claverton Street – Wells Road – Lower Bristol Road.

 

Westbound traffic: Lower Bristol road (remainder) – Pines Way – Lower Bristol Road
