Naming of streets in Midsomer Norton - Primrose Way/Larkspur Close

Notice is hereby given that on or after 26 August 2024, Bath and North East Somerset Council will make an order (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Order’) under Section 18 of the Public Health Act 1925. The effect of the Order will be to name the streets indicated on the attached plan PRIMROSE WAY and LARKSPUR CLOSE.

Any person aggrieved by the intended order may within 21 days after the date of this notice appeal to Bath and Wansdyke Magistrates’ Court at North Parade Road, Bath, BA1 5AF.

Our strategy for creating sustainable communities outlines a holistic approach to meeting the transport needs of those living, working, and visiting Bath and North East Somerset. It focuses on:

  • enhancing health and wellbeing
  • improving air quality
  • reducing the environmental impact of transport
  • combatting climate change
  • tackling congestion

The goal is to create better-connected, healthier, and genuinely sustainable communities by encouraging the use of sustainable modes of transport.

Our strategy for creating sustainable communities aims to provide more travel choices, investing in a transport network that meets current and future community needs. Our strategy outlines indicative short, medium, and long-term interventions. Implementing this transformative change will require significant investment and time.

Active Travel Masterplan

A comprehensive plan that sets out the existing and future network of active travel infrastructure required to enable and provide for sustainable and healthy forms of transport around our area. The plan is for all types of active travel, whether it is for commuting, leisure, business or everyday journeys, such as travelling to a local shop, school or doctor’s surgery.

Details

By implementing infrastructure improvements and behaviour change campaigns, the measures in our Active Travel Masterplan will improve the safety, accessibility, and attractiveness of active travel options.

This in turn will contribute to a reduction in carbon emissions from vehicular transport, improvements to the health and wellbeing of residents, a fairer transport system and less congestion across Bath and North East Somerset.

  • The Active Travel Masterplan document is a very large document, so we have split it into seven sections, for easier viewing and downloading. View the Contents page of Part 1 for a quick overview of the contents of each section. 
  • Appendix A outlines the core zones where we aim to provide comprehensive facilities for walking, wheeling and cycling 
  • Appendix B shows travel networks throughout Bath and North East Somerset. 
  • The Consultation Final Report summarises feedback from a six-week public consultation process in summer 2024
  • Equalities Impact Assessment We publish EqIA documents for all major strategy and policy work we carry out.
