Blue recycling bag

Find out how to use your blue recycling bag, what we collect and when we collect your bag. If you live in a flat, you may have communal recycling bins instead of a blue recycling bag.

We collect your recycling every week. Find out when your next collection day is using our collection day finder.

Using your blue recycling bag

WarningWe've changed how we collect paper. Please put ALL of your suitable paper waste into the blue recycling bag.

To help us collect your blue recycling bag, please take note of the following guidelines:

  • Remove all plastic, sticky tape and polystyrene before putting out for recycling.
  • Flatten cardboard and cut it so that it’s no bigger than 45cm square.
  • Please don't place tissues, kitchen towel or wrapping paper into your blue bag. Put these into your household rubbish.

What goes in your blue recycling bag

  • Cardboard
  • Paper
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Egg boxes
  • Cartons

For a complete list of items we collect, please see our recycling A-Z page

Please note that properties with shared bin stores should continue with their current arrangements.

Moving home

If you move, you must leave your blue recycling bag at your old home.
