We expect to start improvement works in 2026 . Improvements to bus stops, new bus lanes and new bus stops will improve bus travel through the region. Mobility hubs will add more options for travel. Crossings and widened pavements wi ll make it safer for pedestrians. Cycling routes will provide a quieter and safer environment for cyclists.

These will bring together several transport options all in one place. This will include public transport, e-scooters, shared transport such as car clubs and links to walking, wheeling and cycling routes.
Mobility hubs will vary by location to suit local needs. They will give people more choices and make travelling sustainably as easy as possible by connecting different types of transport. For example, we could put bike storage at bus stops or electric charging stations for cars at the Park & Ride sites.
Rogers Close, Clutton
We will be providing:
- wider pavements
- a new pedestrian crossing with lights over A37
- an upgraded bus stop with real-time information display
- improvements to the pedestrian crossing over Rogers Close
A37 Quiet route: Whitchurch to Pensford
We will be providing:
- a continuous cycle route which will follow low-traffic roads or shared use paths next to the road on busier roads
- improved crossings at key locations
A37 Staunton Lane – Whitchurch
We will be providing:
- new pedestrian crossings
- bus priority through the traffic signals making bus travel easier
A37 Wells Road junction, Hallatrow
We will be providing:
- wider pavements to improve access around bus stops
- bus stop improvements including real-time information displays
- improving pedestrian safety by making new crossings
Ham Lane, Farrington Gurney
We will be providing:
- upgraded bus shelters including real time information and seats
- shared mobility options such as bikes or car clubs providing more travel choices
- widened and improved pavements
- new crossing over the A37, including designated parking bays
- improved pedestrian crossing point over Pitway Lane, Main Street, Ham Lane, and Church Lane
- secure cycle parking and cycle stands
Town Hall, Midsomer Norton
We will be providing:
- secure cycle parking and cycle stands
- shared mobility options such as bikes or car clubs providing more travel choices
- additional planting
- signalised crossing over High Street
Victoria Hall, Radstock
We will be providing:
- measures to encourage slower speeds
- improved pedestrian crossings at A362/Church Street/Fortescue Road

Keel’s Hill, Peasedown St John
We will be providing:
- 2 upgraded bus shelters (including real time information and seating)
- shared mobility option (car club or bike hire, for example)
- widened and improved pavements
- zebra crossing over Ashgrove
- improved pedestrian crossing point over Keel’s Hill
- secure cycle parking stands
Smallcombe Road, Clandown
We will be providing:
- upgraded bus shelters (including real time information and seating)
- widened pavements
- reduction in speed limit to 30mph
- new signalised crossing point over A367 Bath Road
- cycle stands
Red Post, Peasedown St John
We will be providing:
- upgraded bus shelters (including real time information and seating)
- widened pavements
- reduction in speed limit to 20mph with new traffic calming
- new zebra crossing over Bath Road
- improved cycle access to Wellow Lane
A362 cycling route
A new shared use path connection for walkers, wheelers and cyclists, connecting the A362 from Main Street in Farrington Gurney towards Midsomer Norton and the proposed Somer Valley Links Enterprise Zone scheme.
Old Mills Lane
This lane will be closed to traffic, making it a quiet lane open to walking, wheeling, cycling and horse riding only. It connects residents from Paulton to the shared use path proposed alongside the A362, providing a route to both Farrington Gurney and Midsomer Norton.
Access to National Cycle Network route 24 to Littleton
A new signalised crossing of the A367 Peasedown St John bypass, linking to a quiet lane to Hang Hill and National Cycle Network 24.
A367, Bath Road Junction, Peasedown St John
Speed reduction to encourage slower speeds along the A367 and allow buses to exit Bath Road more easily.
Bear Flat, Bath
We will be providing:
- improvements to bus shelters
- narrowed pedestrian crossing over the A367
- widened pavements including features such as planters and seating
- shared mobility options such as bikes or car clubs providing more travel choices
- improved pedestrian crossings at side roads
- cycle stands


Phases 2 and 3
Phases 2 and 3 of the scheme is currently being reviewed following feedback received during public consultation. Further details will be shared when available.
