Why use reusable nappies?

A baby will use on average, 5,000 disposable nappies before they are potty trained (Source: Bambino Mio).

This creates a significant amount of waste, filling up household black bins and representing 2-3% of the UK’s household waste (WRAP). What’s more, a single-use nappy can take up to 500 years to decompose (Bambino Mio).

By switching to reusable nappies, you can...

Save money

Over the course of an average of two and a half years before babies are potty trained, using reusable nappies can save you up to a whopping £600 or more, including laundry costs. (Money Helper).

Reduce waste going to landfill

Around 3 billion disposable nappies are thrown away in the UK annually (Nappy Cycle).

Save energy

The number of disposable nappies used over the average 2.5 years that a child needs nappies is in the region of 3,796. The number of reusable nappies used for the same time is 30 (An updated lifecycle assessment study for disposable and reusable nappies on GOV.UK).

Keeping them clean

Reusable nappies are easy to care for. They don’t need soaking and can be washed hygienically in your household washing machine. Many styles come with a removable insert, meaning you often only need to change and wash the lining rather than the whole nappy.

To reduce energy use, you can dry nappies on a washing line or indoor airer instead of using a tumble dryer.

Please follow the specific washing instructions provided with each product.
