Why we are consulting
As your local council, we are exploring options to increase the number of places for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) within the local area. Our proposal is to remodel Charlton House, which is currently vacant, to bring it back into use for this purpose. The aim is to provide facilities that meet the needs of children with complex requirements in Bath and North East Somerset.

Anyone can respond to this consultation, but we would especially like to hear from the local community and residents living in close proximity to Charlton House.
What we are consulting on
This consultation is about the design of proposals for Charlton House. This includes:
the services we're aiming to provide, and the service users we will accommodate
the combination of a school and two small children's homes
the plans for the building, facilities and grounds
We welcome your comments on our proposals, and will use these to inform a future planning application. The planning process itself will assess the principle of the change of use of an existing building.
