Use this page to find out about the Keynsham Memorial Park improvement project, what we have done so far and our future plans for the space.
We are carrying out a project to improve Keynsham Memorial Park and make it a space that everyone can enjoy.
We ran a public consultation in Spring 2022 to gather information about issues currently experienced at the park and to identify priorities for future improvement. We published a feedback report following the consultation.
We also held a series of meetings with key stakeholder groups, as well as a drop-in session held at the park to gather further information from the public.
Based on the feedback received, we replaced the footbridge in 2023, and are making improvements to the larger play park.
We anticipate the play area works will begin in autumn 2026, once a contractor has been appointed and avoiding disruption to summer events in the park.
We will replace the outdated play equipment with modern, accessible and safe play equipment. The design also includes improved surfaces for all users of the play area as well as new planting. This will result in a more inclusive play park suitable for children of all ages and abilities.
The smaller play area at the bottom of the park for younger children will remain as it is now.
The project is funded by Section 106 money and Keynsham Town Council. The expected cost of the park and landscaping improvements will be £250,000.
The final design has been based on the extensive community consultation. View the design below (click the images to enlarge).
