If you regularly help or support someone who could not manage without you, you may be a carer.
Caring can be rewarding, but it can also affect your health, wellbeing, work, finances and relationships. Whether you have been caring for someone for years or have recently taken on a caring role, support is available for you as well as the person you care for.

If you care for someone and think you may need additional support, you can use our adult social care portal.
The information you provide will help us understand your situation and connect you with the right support. This may include community services, support to prevent or delay needs increasing, adult social care services, or a recommendation that you have a carer's assessment.
If a carer's assessment is appropriate, we'll explain what happens next and how to request one.

Young carers can request support through our adult social care portal.
