NOTICE is given that the Bath and North East Somerset Council has made an order under provisions contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will introduce the following variations to restrictions in Newbridge, Bath;
Prohibit Motor Vehicles between the hours of 8.30 - 9.05am and 2.55 - 3.40pm Monday-Friday on the length of Charmouth Road from its junction with Lyme Road and its cul de sac end creating a school street scheme for Newbridge Primary School. The restriction shall apply on school days during term time, except for vehicles exempted under this Order or holding a valid permit.
Introduce an easterly direction one-way system for motorists running from the southerly section of Lyme Gardens into Lyme Road and the southerly section of Charmouth Road, in Newbridge, Bath.
The order will come into operation on 16/02/2026. Full details of the proposal together with a map and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the order may be inspected at the One Stop Shops at Manvers Street, Bath, The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton and at the Civic Centre, Market Walk, Keynsham during normal office hours. Any person who desires to question the validity of, or any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
