Project development timeline

The timeline below shows the lifecycle of the Bath Walking, Wheeling & Cycling Links scheme.

It includes the current (active) stage, those already completed, as well as expected future stages. 

 

1. Project handed over to us

   Complete Stage completed: October 2024

   We took over responsibility for delivery of the project from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (WECA).

2. Public consultation

   CompleteOctober to Thursday 2 January 2025

   We have consulted on our proposals for:

   • Weston to Bath city centre
   • City centre to the Kennet & Avon canal

3. Consultation analysis and final preliminary designs

   Active 2025

   We will analyse the responses to the consultation and will publish the results on this web page. We will also continue to finalise our designs.

4. Development of detailed designs and Full Business Case

   On target Spring 2026

   We will develop our designs and submit a Full Business Case to the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.

5. Construction

   On target 2026

   Construction will take place during 2026.
