The Crisis and Resilience Fund aims to provide immediate support during periods of financial hardship whilst also investing in longer-term resilience and wellbeing across local communities.
We have received £193,248 from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), including funding to help with heating costs, to provide a safety net for residents on low incomes who face unexpected financial difficulties.
How we plan to use the funding

Provision of free school meal vouchers for approximately 4,100 children throughout the Summer 2026 school holiday period.
Small grants will be provided to third sector organisations, including voluntary and community organisations, faith groups and social enterprises, to deliver resilience and crisis support through collaborative working arrangements.
Funding will be allocated to Citizens Advice Bath & North East Somerset, the Centre for Sustainable Energy and Age UK to support residents with:
- Emergency energy costs
- Repairs to heating systems
- Assistance with maintaining safe and warm homes
A contribution towards costs associated with Mindline and associated mental health support services available to Bath & North East Somerset residents.
Funding to support the expansion of the Citizens Advice Macmillan Service, helping residents affected by cancer to access financial advice and support.
Funding to support the delivery of Financial Health Checks for Bath & North East Somerset residents experiencing financial hardship or crisis.
An allocation to the Care Experienced Team to support young people moving into independent living and managing ongoing cost of living pressures.
Funding additional resources within the Business Skills team to support residents into employment and help those already in work progress to better and more sustainable employment opportunities.
Crisis Payments are available to eligible residents experiencing immediate financial hardship.
Support may include:
- Emergency food and essential living costs
- Essential household items
- Assistance following unforeseen circumstances or emergencies
Housing Payments are available to help residents maintain suitable accommodation and prevent homelessness.
Support may include:
- Help to sustain a tenancy
- Assistance with housing-related costs
- Support to prevent homelessness
