Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:
• a suspension of the 3.5 tonnes maximum gross weight restriction, to permit vehicles over 3.5 tonnes to travel along the lengths of roads listed in Schedule 1 of this order, as part of a South Gloucestershire Council diversion route.
• a suspension of the 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight restriction to permit vehicles over 7.5 tonnes to travel along the lengths of roads listed in Schedule 2 of this order, as part of a South Gloucestershire Council diversion route.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable South Gloucestershire Council to undertake highway improvement works on Bath Road, Cold Ashton from the 27th July 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for SEVEN NIGHTS between 20:00 – 06:00hrs.
