Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Silver Street, Chew Magna from its junction with Streamside extending south west to its junction with Harford Square/Chew Hill. USRN: 47904053.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas main upgrade works from the 23rd July 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for EIGHT WEEKS and will be carried out in 3 phases (access will be maintained for residents):
• Phase 1 – from its junction with Streamside extending south west to its junction with Stoneleigh.
• Phase 2 – from its junction with Stoneleigh extending south west to its junction with Streamleaze.
• Phase 3 – from its junction with Streamleaze extending south west to its junction with Harford Square/Chew Hill.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The Batch – Norton Lane – B3130 – Harford Square – Vice versa.
