Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of:
• Ramscombe Lane, Batheaston, Bath from its junction with Hollies Lane extending west for its entire length. USRN: 47904456. Works are anticipated to take place between 1st – 7th October 2026.
• Hollies Lane, Batheaston, Bath from its junction with Ramscombe Lane extending south to its junction with Northend. USRN: 47904457. Works are anticipated to take place between 9th – 15th October 2026.
• Northend, Batheaston, Bath from its junction with Hollies Lane extending north east to a point outside the property known as Myrtle Cottage. USRN: 47917283. Works are anticipated to take place between 9th – 15th October 2026. Only one road will be closed at a time.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Openreach to lay duct to link existing BT boxes to facilitate spine cabling works from the 1st October 2026 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Hollies Lane closure: Hollies Lane (remainder) – Ramscombe Lane – St Catherine Lane – Northend – Vice versa.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Northend closure: Northend (remainder) – St Catherine Lane – Leigh Lane – A46 – London Road West – High Street – Penthouse Hill – Brow Hill – Northend – Vice versa.
