Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Pulteney Road, Bathwick, Bath from its junction with A36 Pulteney Road / Rossiter Road extending south west to the roundabout at the bottom of Widcombe Hill. Traffic travelling south bound on the A36 Pulteney Road, will not be able to enter the one-way section of Pulteney Road (heading towards Widcombe Hill) and will need to follow the diversion via Claverton Street.
Traffic coming from Widcombe Hill / Prior Park Road will still be able to travel northeast bound along Pulteney Road towards the A36.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Openreach to carry out essential works in the carriageway from the 22nd June 2026 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for THREE DAYS between 09:30 – 15:00hrs.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: A36 Pulteney Road – A36 Rossiter Road – A36 Claverton Street – Claverton Street (one-way section).
