Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Lyme Road, Newbridge, Bath from its junction with Charmouth Road extending to a point 10m west of its junction with Charmouth Road. This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable safe working during the installation of improved pedestrian crossing facilities by Bath and North East Somerset Council from the 24th August 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for FOUR WEEKS.
Vehicles wishing to travel to Charmouth Road are to enter from the A4 Newbridge Road. A temporary suspension of the existing one-way order is already in place under TTRO Ref THTTC4293 to enable this.
Vehicles wishing to exit Lyme Road are to turn around and exit onto Lyme Gardens. A temporary suspension of the existing one-way order is already in place under TTRO Ref THTTC4293 to enable this.
