Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:
• a road closure and suspension of parking to vehicles in that length of Lyme Gardens, Newbridge, Bath from its junction with Newbridge Road extending north east for approximately 12 metres. USRN: 47901049.
• a road closure and suspension of parking to vehicles in that length of Charmouth Road, Newbridge, Bath from its junction with Newbridge Road extending north for approximately 15 metres. USRN: 47900455.
• a suspension of the one-way restriction on Lyme Gardens, Lyme Road and Charmouth Road, Newbridge, Bath to facilitate diversions during the period of these works.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road during the installation of improved pedestrian crossing facilities by Bath and North East Somerset Council from the 27th July 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works at each location are anticipated to take place as follows:
• Lyme Gardens closure: This closure is anticipated to take place between 27th July – 24th August 2026.
• Charmouth Road closure: This closure is anticipated to take place between 17th August – 28th September 2026.
• Suspension of the one-way on Lyme Gardens, Lyme Road and Charmouth Road: This is anticipated to be in place between 27th July – 5th October 2026.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Diversion to be clearly signed during each closure.
