Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:
• A temporary suspension of the no entry restriction at the junction of Cheltenham Street, Westmoreland, Bath with A36 Lower Bristol Road.
• A temporary suspension of the one-way restriction in that length Cheltenham Street, Westmoreland, Bath allowing vehicles to access Cheltenham Street from A36 Lower Bristol Road for the duration of the works.
• A road closure in that length of Cheltenham Street, Westmoreland, Bath from a point outside 3 – 5 Cheltenham Street (opposite properties 39 – 36 Cheltenham Street). USRN: 47900462.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Wales & West Utilities to lay a new service – customer request from the 11th May 2026 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for FIVE DAYS.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Cheltenham Street (remainder) – A36 Lower Bristol Road – Westmoreland Road – Cheltenham Street – Vice Versa.
