Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of Charlcombe Lane, Charlcombe, Bath extending from a point 200 metres from its junction with Richmond Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 827 metres.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to facilitate the annual Toad migration including volunteer community toad rescue project and monitoring work by the Charlcombe Toad Rescue Group on 9th February 2026 for a maximum period of 18 Months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. The road will be closed between the following dates due to the annual toad migration:
• 9th February to 29th March 2026 (7 weeks)
• 8th February to 28th March 2027 (7 weeks)
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Charlcombe Lane – Lansdown Road – Granville Road – Colliers Lane – Charlcombe Lane – Vice Versa.
