Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:
• A temporary no right-turn restriction in that length of A367 Wellsway, Bath. Traffic will be prevented from turning right onto Holloway (Hayes Place), Widcombe, Bath.
• A temporary no right-turn restriction in that length of A367 Wellsway, Bath. Traffic will be prevented from turning right onto Bruton Avenue, Bear Flat, Bath.
• A temporary no left-turn restriction in that length of A367 Wells Road, Lyncombe, Bath. Traffic will be prevented from turning left onto Holloway (Hayes Place), Widcombe, Bath.
• A one-way restriction in that length of Holloway (Hayes Place), Widcombe, Bath between its junction with Beechen Cliff Road extending south to its junction with the A367. Vehicles will only be able to travel in a southbound direction. To access Holloway, vehicles will need to follow the diversion via Shakespeare Avenue and around.
• A contra flow system in that length of A367 Wells Road, Lyncombe / A367 Wellsway, Bath for southbound traffic.
• A bus lane closure in that length of Bloomfield Road, Bloomfield, Bath at its junction with A367 Wellsway, Bath.
• A bus lane suspension in that length of A367 Wellsway, Bath approximately from a point outside 20 Wellsway, Bath extending north to its junction with Bloomfield Avenue.
• A road closure in that length of Bloomfield Avenue, Oldfield Park, Bath at its junction with A367 Wellsway, Bath. The road closure is anticipated to be in place for up to 6 weeks - Closure dates to be confirmed.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Bath & North East Somerset Council to carry out highway improvement works from the 27th July 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Works are anticipated to be for SEVENTEEN WEEKS.
