Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily:
a) Close to vehicles and cycles the roads and lengths of roads, excluding footways, specified in columns 1 & 2 of Schedule 1 of this Order between the times specified in column 3;
b) The restrictions in Schedule 1 only apply when signage is in position.
c) Suspend the one-way restriction in Grand Parade for its entire length (Order 1557).
d) Suspend the one-way restriction in Orange Grove for its entire length (Order 1557).
e) Suspend the one-way restriction in High Street for its entire length (Order 1557).
f) Suspend the one-way restriction in New Bond Street for its entire length and reverse the order to allow the traffic to flow in a westerly direction (Order 1557).
g) Suspend the one-way restriction in Milsom Street for its entire length and reverse the order to allow traffic to flow in a northerly direction (Order 1557).
h) Suspend the one-way restriction in Broad Street for its entire length and reverse the order to allow traffic to flow in a southerly direction (Order 1557).
i) Suspend 24-027 Various Roads, Lower Lansdown, Bath in Gay Street to allow vehicles to enter Gay Street in a northerly direction from its junction with George Street and to allow vehicles to exit Gay Street onto Queen Square (Order 2614).
The order is required to facilitate the holding of the Bath Carnival 2025 on Saturday, 11th July 2026 between the times stated in Schedule 1.
Nothing in the Order shall apply to:-
Fire brigade, ambulance and police vehicles whilst in execution of their duties;
Local authority or statutory undertakers’ vehicles in an emergency;
Vehicles authorised by a police constable;
Any event-authorised vehicles whilst in execution of their duties.
