Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a road closure in that length of:
• Anchor Lane, Combe Hay, Bath from its junction with Flower’s Hill extending east to its junction with Backy Hill. USRN: 47918918.
• Flower’s Hill, Combe Hay, Bath from its junction with Anchor Lane extending north to its junction with The Lower Lane. USRN: 47922946.
• The Lower Lane, Combe Hay, Bath from its junction with Anchor Lane extending west to its junction with Flower’s Hill. USRN: 47902418.
• Works on Anchor Lane (the section near Backy Hill), Flower’s Hill and The Lower Lane are anticipated to take place between 22nd June – 17th July 2026. Only one road will be closed at a time.
• Anchor Lane, Combe Hay, Bath from its junction with Old Bath Road extending east for approximately 1085 metres to a point just after Bridge Farm. USRN: 47918918. Works on this part of Anchor Lane are anticipated to take place between 20th July – 2nd October 2026.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Bristol Water to carry out renovation of old main for new from the 22nd June 2026 for a maximum period of 12 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.
