Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce:
• a road closure in that length of A367 Wells Road, Lyncombe, Bath from its junction with Upper Oldfield Park / Hayesfield Park extending north east to St Marys Buildings. USRN: 47900021.
• A suspension of the 7.5 tonnes weight limit in that length of Bathwick Hill, Oakley, Claverton Down Road, North Road, A3062 North Road and A3062 Bradford Road, in order to allow all vehicles to travel along these roads as part of the diversion route.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Bath & North East Somerset Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works from the 26th February 2026 for a maximum period of 6 months. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for TWO NIGHTS between 19:00 – 07:00hrs.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: A367 (remainder) – A36 – Bathwick Hill – Oakley – Claverton Down Road – North Road – A3062 – A367 – Vice versa.
