NOTICE is given that the Bath and North East Somerset Council has made an order under provisions contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will introduce the following variations to restrictions in Central Bath Area:-

 

  1. Introduce No Parking At Any Time in lengths of Norfolk Buildings, Kingsmead Square, High Street, Bridge Street and Monmouth Place, Bath.

  2. Introduce a 3-hour time restriction on the existing Disabled Bays in front of the Abbey in Orange Grove, Bath.

  3. Introduce a dual use Loading Only Bay operating 7.30am – 9am and 4.30pm – 7pm / Disabled Parking Bay operating 9am – 4.30pm and 7pm – 7.30am in lengths of James Street West, Bath.

  4. Introduce a 30-minute Coaches Only parking bay in lengths of James Street West, Bath.

  5. Extension of the Resident Parking Zone 4 boundary to cover 13 Angel Place on Lower Bristol Road, Bath.

  6. Introduce a 1-hour Limited Waiting parking bay operating 8am - 7pm, no return within 1 hour in lengths of Bathwick Street, Bath.

  7. Removal of the dual use Permit Holder / Pay & Display parking bay in lengths of London Street, Bath.

  8. Introduce No Stopping 6am – 11.30pm except buses and No Stopping 11.30pm – 6am except taxis in lengths of St James Parade / Southgate Street, Bath. 

 

The order will come into operation on 10th April 2026. Full details of the proposal together with a map and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the order may be inspected at the One Stop Shops at Manvers Street, Bath, The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton and at the Civic Centre, Market Walk, Keynsham during normal office hours. Any person who desires to question the validity of, or any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
