Non-Medicinal Poisons

Changes to the Poisons Act 1972 following the Deregulation Act 2015

As from 26 May 2015, retailers who wish to sell Part 2 poisons will no longer be required to be registered with the Local Authority.  The amended legislation requires the person (‘the buyer’) to apply to have a licence issued to them from the Home Office (which will be enforced by the Police) before they can acquire certain poisons.  The retailer (‘the seller’) would only be able to supply to licence holders.

Further guidance is available on the Home Office website site at https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outreach/epp-licence-new-guidance.ofml.
