Unsuccessful applications to register an Asset of Community Value (ACV)
AssetAddress of the nominated assetDate of the decisionReasons
The Church of the Good Shepherd2 Lower Northend, Batheaston, BA1 7EN30 October 2025The Church of the Good Shepherd has not been in use for a period of over five years. Therefore, there has not been a time in the recent past when an actual use of the building, or other land that was not an ancillary use, furthered the social wellbeing or interests of the local community. Insufficient evidence has been supplied in relation to proposed future uses that might further the social wellbeing, recreational and sporting interests of the local community.
Moles14 George Street, Bath, BA1 2EN22 July 2024No evidence provided to explain how there was any specific community use in the past. It is not realistic to think that in the future it will be used to further the social well-being or social interest of the local community. A residential apartment was included as part of the nomination.
Chew Stoke Village ShopNewbridge House, Bristol Road, Chew Stoke, Bristol, BS40 8XE5 April 2022The premises were previously part of a garage complex which had workshops and the shop onsite. The shop at that time is seen to have been an ancillary use as part of the overall business that was trading at the location. No evidence that explains how the elements of social interest have been lost by the community over the five years that the shop has not been operating.
Fairfield Arms Public House1 Fairfield Park Road, Bath, BA1 6JN5 November 2019Lack of evidence that demonstrates social value in the context of the community, on whose behalf the nomination is being made. No meaningful evidence that demonstrates how the local community feels about the usage.

Under section 91 of the Localism Act we also publish unsuccessful applications to register an Asset of Community Value.
