Pest control for homes and businesses
If you need pest control treatment at your home or business, you can arrange this through a private provider. We recommend using a provider listed on Buy with Confidence, a national register of Trading Standards‑approved businesses that have been checked to help protect residents from rogue traders.
Report pests
Private land or buildings
We do not provide a pest control service within private properties, however if you are experiencing issues caused by pests living on land or in buildings that you do not own, please report them to us, as we may be able to take action.
Council land or buildings
If you see rats, mice, wasps or other pests on council‑owned or council‑managed land or buildings, please report this online via Fix My Street or by calling Council Connect on 01225 394040
Concerns about pests linked to another property
If you are experiencing problems with rats or mice because of the condition of land or buildings you do not own (for example, unmanaged gardens, accumulations of waste, or infestations linked to neighbouring premises) the council can still take action under environmental health and public protection legislation.
