Parish and town councils have a crucial role to play in driving local action on the climate and ecological emergencies. Local community groups and residents will know their area and understand local needs best, and parish and town councils are well placed to tap into this knowledge.

This guidance provides ideas and a template for how to develop and deliver a Nature Action Plan (NAP). These are intended to help parish and town councils identify their existing natural assets and opportunities for restoring nature in their area.

The most effective NAPs will be developed in partnership with local expertise and community groups, securing buy-in from as many people and organisations as possible.

Use these pages to find out more about the climate and ecological emergencies, what we are doing to address them, and how you can help.

This page will be updated with links to completed plans as and when they are published.
