Small Grants Programme

One-off grants up to £10,000 are available for smaller registered charities and Community Interest Companies based and working in the UK with disabled children aged 0-25 and their families.  The Trust also provides small grants for the promotion and development of palliative care for adults and children in Africa including improving access to appropriate pain relief.

Applicants should be working to:

  • improve the service delivery and the support available to children aged 0-25 with complex disabilities, their families and siblings in the UK, and/or
  • strengthen palliative care services for children aged 0-25 and their families in the UK.

Applying organisations must have an annual income of under £350,000.

Applications from organisations that are providing services in areas of significant deprivation (information about the Indices of Multiple Deprivation can be found on the GOV.UK website) and/or are working with children and families from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities are likely to be prioritised.

Grants can be used for such things as (please note this is not an exclusive list):

  • Activities for disabled children, children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
  • Activities which support siblings of disabled children or siblings of children with life-limiting conditions.
  • Purchase of minibuses for disabled children.
  • Renovation, upgrading and additional equipment for hydrotherapy pools and multi-sensory rooms.
  • Respite for the whole family.
  • Specialist/adapted play equipment/access to play and leisure for disabled children, children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
  • Support for disabled children and children with life-limiting conditions who are shielding or unable to return to school due to coronavirus/COVID-19.  This can include adaptations to services including PPE, digital service provision and physical changes to spaces to make projects coronavirus/COVID-19 compliant, and/or
  • Technology to support children and families who are isolated due to coronavirus/COVID-19.

Applications may be made at any time and match funding is not required.  The Trust normally makes a decision on applications within 6 weeks of receipt.
