Grants, generally for under £5,000, are available to UK registered charities working in the UK or overseas for a wide range of charitable purposes. Last year the Trust awarded grants against the headings of
- children
- disability
- education
- environment
- hospices
- medical causes and
- the welfare of animals.
Most awards are made to charities in England, although charities covering the whole of the UK and those working overseas are also supported. While some charities are supported on a regular basis, first-time applicants are also funded.

The trustees meet on an ad hoc basis to review applications for funding. Only successful applicants are notified of the trustees' decision. Applications may be made at any time in writing.
