Also known as the P J F Storrs Trust, the Peter Storrs Trust awards small grants, usually between £1,000 and £10,000, for the advancement of education and other charitable objects to UK registered charities working in the UK and/or overseas.
The Trust’s charitable objectives are:
- The establishment of scholarships for the benefit of such graduates or undergraduates of Peterhouse in the University of Cambridge as the trustees may select for the purpose of enabling them to extend their education in such manner as the trustees may approve, particularly outside the United Kingdom and by making grants for defraying the costs of such scholarships, and
- Such other payments being for educational and other charitable purposes only as the trustees may in their discretion think fit.
The Trust invites applications for grants from UK registered charities. It aims to distribute grants of 80 to 90% of its investment income each year, but this tends to vary depending on grant making opportunities and Investment returns. Its annual grant expenditure is normally between £100,000 and £200,000.
The Trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
The Trust meets every 6 months to consider requests for grant support. Applications may be made at any time in writing.
