BlueSpark Foundation

Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available to charitable organisations in England, including schools, for the education and development of children and young people.

The BlueSpark Foundation supports the education and development of children and young people by providing grants for educational, cultural, sporting and other projects.

The Foundation provides funding for relatively small-scale projects which might not happen at all or would only happen on a lesser scale without the support of the BlueSpark Foundation.  Funding provided by BlueSpark must be crucial to a project rather than marginally incremental to its funding.

Most projects supported are initiated or undertaken by schools, colleges or community groups. However, individuals may also apply for a grant and BlueSpark may also undertake or initiate projects in its own right.

The Foundation aims to help children and young people reach their full potential by supporting projects which have the following objectives:

  • Developing self-confidence.
  • Developing team working skills.
  • Encouraging aspiration.
  • Encouraging independence.
  • Enhancing educational achievement.
  • Promoting creativity & individuality, and
  • Widening educational horizons.

The Foundation supports projects in 6 broad categories namely :

  • Academic.
  • Drama.
  • Sport.
  • Music, Dance and Singing.
  • Outdoor activities, and
  • Educational excursions.

Grants are usually for between £1,000 and £5,000.  There is no specific requirement for matched funding.

The Foundation produces a detailed and informative Annual Report, which provides maps showing the historic and geographic distribution of grants as well as detailed information on grant recipients and projects supported.

All applications for a grant must be made online on the Foundation’s standard application form.  The form should be completed by the person leading the project.

Further information, guidance and the online application form is available on the Foundation’s website.

Applications may be made at any time and are reviewed by trustees on a rolling basis every 2-months.
