Small and larger grants are available to UK registered charities and social enterprises working in the areas of social enterprise, relief of financial hardship and the advancement of education in the UK and overseas.
The Apax Foundation is a grant-making charity that has continued to focus its grants in two principal areas:
- A programme of large grants to social mobility (including education) and social entrepreneurship causes, and
- A matching programme in support of causes donated to personally by members of the Apax team.
The Foundation has also initiated an emergency response programme in response to disasters.
Grants are generally categorised as follows:
- The advancement of education
- Social enterprise and relief of financial hardship
- Other charitable purposes
- Emergency initiatives

The Trustees of the Foundation meet regularly to review the charity’s donations and grants. Applications may be made at any time in writing.
