Grants usually of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available to UK charities that are promoting the Christian faith by supporting people in the UK and/or overseas that are struggling with debt and poverty.
The Matthew 25:35 Trust supports charities working to help those struggling with poverty and debt (Matthew 25:35 in the Bible contains the text "For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink.").
The Trust makes grants to charities and individuals who meet the Trust's objectives and impress its trustees with:
• The relevance of their project proposals.
• The effectiveness of their operations, and
• The sustainability of their activities.
Given the Trust's aim to advance religion by the promotion of the Christian faith, the Christian message should be integral to the activity.
Typically, grants are in the range of £1,000 to £10,000 and project timescales up to 12 months.
The Trust tends to stay in regular contact with the organisations and individuals it supports.
