The Jephcott Charitable Trust

Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 are available to UK registered charities and constituted organisations working in the areas of education, health, the natural environment and population control in the United Kingdom and/or overseas.

South Devon-based, the Jephcott Charitable Trust supports UK registered charities and properly constituted organisations working in the United Kingdom and/or overseas to address the Trust’s four main priorities:

•    Education: projects will be considered that benefit people of all ages and backgrounds.  The projects may provide formal education, teach vocational skills to enhance the possibility of employment, enhance computer skills, health awareness, and distance learning.
•    Health: a very wide range of healthcare projects are supported.
•    Population Control: the Trust is prepared to consider support for schemes, particularly educational initiatives, which help to control excessive growth in population, and
•    The National Environment: the Trust has supported a number of projects involved in conserving the natural environment.

The Trust likes to make grants which will make a tangible difference and will consider charities or projects which have difficulty getting started or raising funds from other sources.  The Trust has a particular interest in making grants to organisations requiring start-up funds in both the United Kingdom and overseas and can be a particularly good source of funding for overseas projects.

This often means that the Trust is funding capital projects, for example for equipment, materials, the construction of buildings and solar panels, and the supply of safe, clean water.

The Trust does not usually fund any running costs, including staff salaries, administration, marketing or travel costs.

Applications may be made at any time.  The Trust meets in April and October to consider applications.
