Grants averaging around £2,000 are available to registered charities working in England and Wales and/or overseas in a wide-range of areas, particularly health, education, the arts, civil society, the relief of poverty, conservation and religious harmony.
Chelmsford, Essex-based grant-making charity, the Patrick Rowland Foundation, makes small grants, augmented by the occasional larger grant, to registered charities in England and Wales. It has wide-ranging charitable objectives, which include:
• The advancement of amateur sport.
• The advancement of animal welfare.
• The advancement of citizenship or community development.
• The advancement of education.
• The advancement of environmental protection or improvement.
• The advancement of health and the saving of lives.
• The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation or the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity.
• The advancement of religion.
• The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science.
• The prevention of poverty.
• The promotion of the efficiency of the Armed Forces of the crown, or of the efficiency of the Police, Fire and Rescue Services or Ambulance Services.
• The relief of those in ned, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, and
• Any other purposes currently recognised as charitable.
The Foundation achieves its charitable objectives by making donations to registered charities working in England and Wales and/or overseas. Its donations can be wide-ranging or focussed on one charitable cause at the Trustees’ discretion.
