One-off grants of between £500 and £5,000 are available to UK registered charities, schools and Community Interest Companies (CICs) for projects and activities that promote a better understanding of the countryside.
Creative and innovative approaches that meet the Trust’s objectives are welcomed. The Trust usually sets aside a grant budget of £500,000 each year.
Applications may be made at any time in writing. The Trust calls this a ‘Proposal Letter’ and asks that it should be no longer than 2 pages of A4 and include:
- How much funding is required and how any grant award will be used.
- How the project supports the Trust's aims.
- Methodologies (for example, how the success of a project will be measured).
- Successful outcome indicators – applicants are required to specify up to three measures that will demonstrate the success of the project, and
- What the project outcomes and benefits will be.
Applicants are also requested to complete a Contact Form. This can be downloaded from the Trust’s website and 4 copies included alongside 3 copies of the Proposal Letter.
