Grants, generally for under £10,000, are available to registered charities in England and Wales for a diverse range of charitable causes.
The aim of the Hobson Charity Limited is to offer grants to registered charities in England and Wales seeking to raise the quality of life, particularly for those who are young, disadvantaged, deprived, disabled or elderly.
Grants, which are currently focussed on ‘cost of living’ related applications from ‘frontline’ service charitable organisations, are usually confined to specific items or projects and settled after the purchase has been confirmed. Grants have been awarded under the following headings:

The trustees' long-term aim is to maintain grant making at a level of approximately £1.2m per annum in perpetuity.
The trustees will consider applications for grants which are in accordance with the stated objectives of the charity and:
- Are from a registered charitable organisation based in England and Wales.
- Do not include salary, people or core running costs of any kind, and
- Are not repeat or multi-year requests.
