The Gosling Foundation

The Gosling Foundation Limited is an established grant-making charity that regularly awards grants totalling over £1 million annually.  Grants are awarded against the following categories:

Royal Navy/Royal Marines - funding for organisations that support serving personnel, veterans and reservists of the royal navy and royal marines, as well as their families.  The aim is to help improve their quality of life.

Youth – funding for organisations that provide positive opportunities and support for disadvantaged and marginalised young people, enabling them to make use of their talents, build self-sufficiency and confidence, as well as providing tangible, long-term outcome.

Education - funding for organisations that provide educational opportunities and support.  They also provide funding for special needs schools and colleges to help their students transition to higher education.  They are particularly keen to fund projects that keep young people engaged with education or vocational training or help them back into education.

Grants are available for:

  • Capital projects, such as new builds, extensions, refurbishment and recreational spaces
  • Events
  • Furniture
  • IT projects, such as establishing a helpline or moving services online
  • Minibuses, and
  • Salaries for posts that directly support beneficiaries in the Foundation’s preferred funding areas as listed above

The Foundation can offer multi-year grants starting at £5,000 per year.  Although no maximum grant award level is specified by the Foundation, grants generally tend to be under £20,000.  The Foundation will expect applicants to have sought and secured matched funding towards their project and rarely funds the full project cost.

Applications may be made at any time via the application forms available on the Foundation’s website.
