The N Smith Charitable Settlement

The N (Nora) Smith Charitable Settlement has been rebuilding its grant-making in recent years.  It was established for charitable purposes only and uses its investment income to support a broad range of charitable activities.

Grant awards are for generally small amounts for one-year or, in some cases, over several years.  The majority of grants made are for charities based and working in the UK.

The Trust has stated that is has a reasonable expectation that it has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

In the past the Charity has supported UK registered charities working in the areas of:

  • Animal welfare.
  • Arts and culture.
  • Education.
  • Environment.
  • Medical research.
  • Overseas aid, and
  • Social welfare.

As the Charity does not maintain a website, further information about its activities can be found on the Charity Commission website.

Applications may be made at any time in writing.
