Joanies Fund

Grants of up to £3,000 are available for community organisations in England and Wales community projects working solely with young people aged 0 to 25.

The Joanies Fund has just reopened to applications (on Monday 13 April 2026) with a deadline of Friday 31 July 2026 or as soon as the available funding has been fully committed, whichever is the earlier.  Early application is therefore advised.  The Fund is managed by the Herefordshire Community Foundation.

The Fund is open to applications from projects across England and Wales.  It supports a wide range of community projects working solely with young people aged 0 to 25.  Trustees look for strong evidence of close consultation with young people as well community involvement and local financial support.  Grants are available for running costs, project and core costs, as well as capital costs.  The Fund has a particular interest in projects that are innovative or entrepreneurial and lead to employment, accreditation, further education or training.

Projects need to show integration into their local communities and ensure that the project is open to all young people, regardless of ethnicity or religion.  The Fund will not consider applications from religious groups and organisations.

Grant awards tend to be for £3,000 or less.

A number of examples of previously funded projects are provided on the Herefordshire Community Foundation website.

Please note that organisations in receipt of three or more grants in the previous 5 years will not be eligible to reapply for at least 2 years.

Further information, guidance and details about how to apply is available on the Herefordshire Community Foundation website.
