Co-op Local Community Fund 2026-27

Small revenue and project grants, expected to be for between £500 and £3,000, are available for projects that benefit local communities in areas in which Co-op food stores and funeral homes have a presence in the UK and the Isle of Man.  Priority is given to organisations with an annual income of under £1 million.

In 2025, grants, which could be used to cover project costs or salaries, were for between £1,000 and £3,000 (ie grants of £3,000, £2,000 and £1,000 per Co-op community).  The Co-op hasn't revealed grant levels for 2026, but we expect them to be similar to 2025.  Please check the Local Community Fund website for updates.

Applications should relate to the Community Fund’s themes of:

  • Building sustainable futures
  • Creating opportunities for young people
  • Enabling people to access food
  • Improving people’s mental wellbeing, and
  • Promoting community cohesion.

The Co-op is keen to support projects that promote and celebrate diversity and inclusion.

A Co-op store locator can be found at this link (includes several stores in Bath but Radco stores are not part of this scheme).

The Co-op Funeral Care locations are here (includes Bath and Radstock)

The deadline for applications has been extended from 24 June 2026 to 10 July 2026 as they are still looking for projects in some areas.  Co-op will assess all applications over the summer of 2026 and email applicants in  October 2026 about the outcome of their application.

Successful projects will be part of the Local Community Fund for 12 months from Sunday 18 October 2026 to Sunday 17 October 2027.

Projects will receive an initial payment in Spring 2027, with remaining funds being paid in November 2027.  Each cause selected will receive a minimum of £500.

Projects should:

  • Benefit a local community in which the Co-op has a presence.
  • Meet the Co-op’s values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity.
  • Not have religious or political aims (although religious groups can apply).
  • Take place in the UK or Isle of Man, and
  • Take place or will still be running after November 2027.

Applicants must also provide a Co-op membership number for one of the people making the application (non-members can join online or via the Co-op App).

Further information, guidance and details about how to apply is available on the Co-op website.
