The Treebeard Trust

Grants for generally up to £50,000 over 1 or more years, are available to UK registered charities and social enterprises working in the areas of environment, social justice and vulnerable communities.

The Treebeard Trust supports transformational initiatives which have the potential to create a fairer society. It does so primarily through financial investments (ie grants) in partner organisations, both charities and other social enterprises.

The Trust’s primary areas of focus are:

  • Violence against women and girls.
  • Refugees and vulnerable migrants, and
  • The environment.

During the last 12 months, the Trust has continued to grow its portfolio of partners working to tackle violence against women and girls, with a particular focus on supporting specialist organisations led by, and working to support, black and minoritized women and girls.

The Trust’s website lists the following 4 investment themes:

  • Social justice.
  • Sustainable planet.
  • Systems change, and
  • Vulnerable communities.

The Trust can be contacted at any time to discuss a project or proposal.  However, the Trust urges any agency to read its priorities and values carefully before making contact.  Its staff work part time and are not able to respond to all enquiries.

Organisations that consider themselves to be a good fit for the Trust are invited to send a few paragraphs about their work with a link to their website or further information.
